Custom Court Builders in Logan, UT

Logan sits in Cache Valley, home to Utah State University and some of the coldest winters in the state. A court here gets a short building season and a long winter, and it is built for both.

A Logan court built for Cache Valley cold

Cache Valley winters are long, cold and often stuck under an inversion for weeks at a time. Frost goes deeper into the ground here than in most of Utah, and a court that isn't built for that will show it by spring.

Deep frost is why footings matter. Hoop poles, net posts and fence posts need to be set deep enough that freezing ground can't push them up, and the slab needs a well-compacted, well-drained base so water isn't sitting under it to freeze. Exact depths depend on the site, and we plan them at the site assessment. The post-tension slab itself, with its cables pulled tight after the concrete cures, holds together through the freeze.

The building season is short. Concrete and acrylic surfacing both need warm, dry weather, so courts in Cache Valley are built from late spring into early fall. If you want to be playing by midsummer, it pays to ask for an estimate while there is still snow on the ground, so the planning is done before the ground thaws.

Logan is also the farthest north we build, well over a hundred miles from our Northern Utah crew's base in Mapleton. That makes planning more important: having photos and measurements of the yard ready, and settling sports, colors and extras early, keeps the project moving once the crew is there.

Short summers make long evenings precious. Dominator LED lights stretch the playing day, and Sports Master acrylic sand-mix in your colors gives the court a surface that is ready to play once the snow is gone and it dries.

We also build down the valley in Ogden and along the Wasatch Front in Layton and Kaysville, and the estimate is free.

Supreme Custom Courts, and specifically Ola, we're wonderful. I called Supreme with what turned out to be a simple question on how to "fix" something on our Dominator hoop. About 10 minutes later Ola was at our house and two minutes later the problem was "fixed."

Questions

Asked in Logan

Will frost heave the hoop or the net posts?

Not if they are set deep enough. Footing depth is planned at the site assessment for Cache Valley's deep frost.

When can a court be built in Logan?

From late spring into early fall, when concrete and acrylic can go down warm and dry. Ask in winter to build that summer.

Do you really come up to Logan?

Yes. It is our farthest-north town, which is why we settle the details early, before the crew makes the trip.

What should we have ready for the estimate?

Photos of the yard, rough measurements, the sports you want, and any HOA rules. It makes the visit count.

Can we leave snow on the court all winter?

Yes. Letting it melt on its own is easy on the surface, and the slope carries the water away.
