Bringing an older Taylorsville court back
Courts age in ways that are easy to spot. The color fades, the lines blur, hairline cracks open up, and after a rain you find puddles sitting in the same low spots every time. None of those mean the court is finished. Most mean it is due for resurfacing.
Resurfacing starts with cleaning the old surface down to something new coats can grip. Cracks are filled and repaired, and low spots that hold water can often be patched level. Then fresh layers of Sports Master acrylic go on, followed by new regulation lines painted sharp.
It is also a chance to change the court. You can pick entirely new colors, add pickleball lines to an old tennis or basketball court, or repaint a faded key in a brighter shade. If the court never had lights, Dominator LED lights can be added at the same time.
Sometimes the slab underneath has moved too much for a resurface to last, with wide cracks that keep reopening or sections that have heaved. We'll tell you if that's the case. Then the right fix is a new post-tension slab on a properly graded base, finished the same way.
A resurfaced court looks new, and a little upkeep keeps it that way. Sweep or blow off leaves and dirt, rinse it now and then, keep sprinklers from hitting it every day, and don't drag furniture across the surface. Small cracks are easier to deal with when they are caught early.
