A Bountiful court that keeps the view
On the bench, the view is often the reason people bought the house. A court changes what you see from the back windows, so it is worth deciding early how it will look from inside, not only how it will play.
Color is the biggest part of that. Bright blues and reds read as a sports court from far away, while greens, tans and darker blues sit more quietly in a hillside yard. Sports Master acrylic comes in a wide range, and you can test combinations in the court designer on our home page before you settle on one.
Fencing is the next decision. A tall fence all the way around keeps every ball in but frames the view in chain-link. One option is fencing only at the ends, where most balls go, with the sides kept lower or open. Windscreens add privacy where you want it and can be left off where you don't.
Bench lots also bring water. In a summer storm, runoff comes down the hill fast, so the court is set on a base that is excavated, compacted and graded to send that water around and off it, not across it. Then a post-tension slab is poured and finished in Sports Master acrylic sand-mix with regulation lines.
Lights deserve a thought too. A court on a hillside can be seen from a long way off at night, so Dominator LED lights are aimed down onto the court and set on a timer.

Which court colors suit a hillside view?
Greens, tans and darker blues sit quietly in a hillside yard, while bright colors stand out. Try them in our court designer first.
Do we need a fence all the way around?
Not always. Fencing at the ends catches most balls, and the sides can stay lower or open to keep the view.
Will storm water run across the court?
The base is graded so water coming down the bench goes around and off the slab instead of over it.
