Tennis Court Resurfacing in Logan, UT

Cache Valley winters are long and hard on tennis courts. A resurfacing renews the surface, and a few habits before the snow comes keep the new color and lines looking right into the next spring.

Putting a Logan tennis court to bed for winter

Logan's winters arrive early and leave late, and a tennis court spends a long stretch of every year under snow and ice. Water that gets into cracks freezes and pries them open, and a net left up all winter weathers fast and pulls on its posts.

When a Logan court has come through enough of those winters, a resurfacing brings it back. We clean it, repair the cracks the freezes opened, fill low spots where meltwater sat, then lay down acrylic resurfacer, color coats and new regulation lines. Because the coatings need moderate temperatures to cure, we book Cache Valley courts for the warmer part of the year, so it pays to call early.

Then come the habits that protect it. Take the net down and store it before the first snow. Keep the edges and any drains clear so meltwater can leave the court. Clear snow with a plastic shovel or let it melt, never with a metal blade. And when a new crack shows up in spring, have it filled while it is still thin.

Logan is about 113 miles from our Northern Utah crew's base in Mapleton, so we plan Cache Valley trips ahead. Estimates are free.

Supreme Custom Courts, and specifically Ola, we're wonderful. I called Supreme with what turned out to be a simple question on how to "fix" something on our Dominator hoop. About 10 minutes later Ola was at our house and two minutes later the problem was "fixed."

Questions

Asked in Logan

Should we take our tennis net down for a Logan winter?

Yes. Snow and ice weather a net quickly and pull on the posts. Take it down after the last fall game, store it dry, and put it back up in spring.

Why does our court crack again every year?

Logan's long winters bring freeze after freeze. Each time water in a crack freezes, it expands and pushes the edges apart. Sealing cracks and the surface under new coats keeps most of that water out.

When can you resurface a court in Logan?

When days and nights are both mild enough for acrylic to cure, which comes later in spring and ends sooner in fall than further south. Calling early helps us fit your court in.

Do you really travel to Logan?

Yes. Logan is a long drive from our Mapleton base, so we plan Cache Valley work ahead and let you know your dates well before we come.
