Custom Court Builders in Park City, UT

Park City sits around 7,000 feet, where the sun is stronger, the snow is deeper and the summer is short. A court here has to be built for the mountain and planned for the months it gets played hardest.

Building a court at Park City's altitude

At this elevation, the thin air lets more of the sun's ultraviolet light through, and that light is what fades color over time. Choosing colors with that in mind, and planning a recoat when the court starts to dull, keeps a Park City court looking sharp.

Snow is the other side of the year. A court here spends months under it, so everything about the base is about water: excavation down to solid ground, compaction, and grading with enough fall that spring melt runs off instead of soaking in. The post-tension slab, tensioned with steel cables, keeps freeze-thaw cracks tight through a long winter.

Mountain lots bring their own work. Rock, slopes and tight access are common, and they shape where the court can go and how the equipment gets there. Some lots need more digging than others to reach ground firm enough for a slab. That is why we look at the site before anyone talks about colors.

Many Park City homes sit in neighborhoods with architectural review, so a court often needs approval for its placement, fencing, lights and colors. A clear plan with measurements makes that review easier.

If the house is a second home, think about the court when you're not there. Dominator LED lights on a timer or a remote, and a permanent net that stays up all season, mean the court is ready the day you arrive.

Courts here are built in the warm months, when concrete and Sports Master acrylic can go down dry. Our Northern Utah crew comes over from Mapleton, and we also build in Heber City. Estimates are free; ask early in the year to be playing by summer.

Supreme Custom Courts, and specifically Ola, we're wonderful. I called Supreme with what turned out to be a simple question on how to "fix" something on our Dominator hoop. About 10 minutes later Ola was at our house and two minutes later the problem was "fixed."

Questions

Asked in Park City

Will the colors fade faster at this altitude?

Stronger sun does fade acrylic over time. Picking colors with that in mind, and recoating when the court dulls, keeps it looking sharp.

Can a court handle Park City snow?

Yes, with a well-drained base, enough fall for spring melt and a post-tension slab that keeps cracks tight.

Our HOA has architectural review. Can you help?

We can give you the measurements, placement, colors and fencing details a review board will ask for.

It's a second home. How do we keep the court ready?

Lights on a timer or remote and a permanent net mean the court is ready when you arrive. Blow off any debris at the start of each visit.
