Fitting a court into a Salt Lake City lot
In Utah's capital, the first question is rarely which sport. It is how much room there is, and how a crew gets into the backyard to use it. Plenty of older homes here sit close together, with a narrow side yard and a garage at the back, so before anything else we look at how the excavation and the concrete will reach the spot.
Size comes next. A pickleball court's lines are 20 by 44 feet, and players need a little room to move past them, so a single pickleball court fits in more city yards than people expect. If the yard is long and narrow, the court can run lengthwise along it, with the hoop at whichever end suits the house. A basketball half court can be shaped to the space, and one slab can carry both: basketball lines in one color, pickleball lines in another.
Whatever the size, what goes underneath does not shrink. We grade the base so water runs off the court, pour a post-tension concrete slab, and finish it with Sports Master acrylic sand-mix in the colors you pick. In a city with real winters, that slope and that slab are what keep a small court from turning into a cracked one.
City lots also mean neighbors close by. Dominator LED lights can be aimed at the court and set on a timer, and court fencing keeps balls out of the garden next door. If you would rather practice alone, a ball rebounder sends every shot back to you.

Often, yes. A pickleball court's lines are 20 by 44 feet, and a basketball half court can be sized to the space you have. We measure during the free estimate.
How do you get equipment into a backyard with a narrow side yard?
Access is planned at the site visit. Gate width, fences and slopes decide how the excavation and the concrete reach the court.
Will court lights bother my neighbors?
Dominator LED lights are aimed at the court, and a timer turns them off when you choose. Placement is talked through with you before anything is installed.
