A Bountiful court that keeps the valley in sight
Many Bountiful homes sit on the east bench with the valley and the Great Salt Lake spread out below. A basketball court can share that view, but the usual accessories can block it: tall chain-link around a court and windscreens on top of that make a wall.
There are lighter ways to keep the ball in play. A ball rebounder behind the hoop catches missed shots and sends them back. Fencing can run only along the downhill side, where a loose ball would roll farthest, and stay off the view side entirely. If you want windscreens for privacy or wind, they can go on the sections facing the street instead of the lake.
The hoop itself can face along the view rather than into it, so the shooter looks at the backboard and the rebounder gets the lake. Muted or earth-tone court colors sit more quietly in a hillside yard than bright ones.
Bench lots slope, so the pad is cut, graded and drained before the slab goes in. That slab is post-tension concrete, reinforced with steel cables that are tensioned after curing, and Sports Master acrylic sand-mix finishes the surface. It is roughly 56 miles from our northern crew's Mapleton yard to the Bountiful bench, and the measuring visit costs nothing.

Can we skip a fence around a Bountiful court?
Often. A ball rebounder behind the hoop and fencing only on the downhill side keep most balls close without boxing in the view.
Which way should the hoop face on a view lot?
Along the view rather than toward it, so the backboard doesn't sit in the middle of the scene and shooters aren't facing the western sun.
Do windscreens have to go all the way around?
No. They can go only on the sections where you want privacy or less wind, leaving the view side open.
