Keeping an Ivins court out of the wash
Under the red cliffs around Ivins, dry washes cut across the land, and most of the year they're just sand and brush. When a summer storm hits the cliffs, those washes can carry a lot of water in a hurry. A sport court is a big flat surface, and it should never sit where that water wants to go.
So the first thing we do on an Ivins lot is read the ground: where the washes run, where water came through in past storms, and how the yard falls. The court is placed out of that path, and the pad is excavated and graded to shed rain away from the slab. Then the post-tension concrete goes in, with cables tensioned after curing to keep it tight.
After that comes the fun part. Sports Master acrylic sand-mix in colors that suit the red rock, lines for pickleball, basketball, tennis or volleyball in their own shades, and the add-ons you want: nets, an adjustable hoop, fencing, windscreens and Dominator LED lights on a timer.
Because our Southern Utah crew is based right here in Ivins, a visit to look at your lot is easy to set up, and the estimate is free. You can also try layouts in the designer on our home page.

Questions
Asked in Ivins
Can a court be built near a dry wash in Ivins?
Near one, yes, but not in its path. We look at where water runs during storms and place the court and its grading so runoff goes around it.
How do you read where water will go?
We walk the lot, look at the washes and the way the yard falls, and ask what you've seen in past storms. That decides where the court sits and how the pad is graded.
Do you build anything besides the court itself?
The add-ons, yes: nets and posts, hoops, chain-link fencing, windscreens, a scoreboard, benches and Dominator LED lights. Installed items go on the same quote as the court.
