Below the red cliffs at the edge of Snow Canyon State Park, Ivins is home to our Southern Utah crew. Most of the year the weather is dry and bright. Then the summer monsoon storms arrive, dropping a lot of rain in a short time, and water pours off the slopes carrying red mud across whatever is in its way, courts included.
Mud that dries on a court stains the color and fills the texture, and runoff that keeps crossing the same corner can undercut the edge. Meanwhile the strong sun keeps working on the coating, fading it and wearing it dry. A court here usually needs both kinds of attention.
On a resurface, the court is washed clean of dried mud and dust, cracks and edges are repaired, and low spots are leveled. New Sports Master acrylic is applied in coats with sand for grip, then the lines. If a storm path crosses your court, we can point out where a small change in grading or a drain would send the water around it instead.
