Court Resurfacing in Park City, UT
At around 7,000 feet, Park City's sun is strong enough to fade a court faster than in the valley, and snow keeps it buried for months. Resurfacing restores color, grip and lines.

Mountain sun and short summers on a Park City court
Ultraviolet light gets stronger as you climb, and Park City sits around 7,000 feet. A court here takes more of it every summer day than the same court would in Salt Lake City, and that is what bleaches acrylic color and dries out the surface. Add a winter of deep snow and freezing nights, and the cracks come along with the fading.
The playing season is short, so the court should be ready for it. Resurfacing has to wait for dry pavement and mild temperatures, which arrive later here than in the valley. We plan Park City work for the warm stretch and aim to have the court finished while there is still summer left to use it.
The job is the same careful sequence as anywhere: clean the court, take off anything loose, repair cracks and level low spots, then lay down Sports Master acrylic with sand for traction and paint new lines. Color choice matters more under mountain sun, so it is worth looking at a few options in your own light before deciding.
Park City is roughly 37 miles from Mapleton, home base of our Northern Utah crew, which also resurfaces courts down the road in Heber City. Estimates are free.

Questions
Asked in Park City
Does altitude really fade a court faster?
Yes. Ultraviolet light is stronger at Park City's elevation, so color and the top of the surface break down faster than on a court down in the valley.
When does resurfacing season start in Park City?
Once the snow is gone, the court has dried out and temperatures are mild enough for coatings to cure. That comes later than in the valley, so plan ahead.
Can the court be lit for summer evenings?
Yes. Dominator LED court lights can be added during a resurface, with a timer or remote, for evening games in the cool mountain air.
Which crew handles Park City?
Our Northern Utah crew, which comes up roughly 37 miles from Mapleton and also resurfaces courts in Heber City.
