Repair, resurface or rebuild an Orem court?

Orem's courts come in every condition, from a few years old to well past their prime, and the right fix depends on what is actually wrong. It helps to think of three levels of work, from smallest to largest.

Repair alone fits a court whose surface is still in good shape: color holding, texture still gritty, lines clear, with a handful of cracks. Filling those cracks before winter keeps water out and helps the surface last. A full resurface fits when the wear is spread across the court: faded or chalky color, smooth spots that have lost grip, blurred lines, many cracks or puddles in low spots. The court is cleaned and repaired, then new Sports Master acrylic and fresh lines go over the whole surface.

A rebuild is for a slab that has failed: wide cracks that reopen every year, sections that have heaved or sunk, or a pad that never drained. No coating will stay looking good on concrete that keeps moving, so the honest answer is to remove it and pour a new post-tension slab on a properly graded base.

We will tell you which of the three your court needs at a free estimate. Orem jobs are a short trip of roughly 14 miles for our Mapleton-based Northern Utah crew, which also handles Provo and Pleasant Grove courts.

Supreme Custom Courts, and specifically Ola, we're wonderful. I called Supreme with what turned out to be a simple question on how to "fix" something on our Dominator hoop. About 10 minutes later Ola was at our house and two minutes later the problem was "fixed."

Questions

Asked in Orem

Can we just fill the cracks on our Orem court?

If the rest of the surface is still in good shape, yes. Crack repair on its own is a smaller job, and doing it before winter keeps water out.

What tells you a court needs a full resurface?

Wear spread across the whole court: faded color, slick spots, worn lines, lots of cracks or puddles. At that point repairs alone would leave a patchy surface.

When does a court need a new slab instead?

When the concrete itself keeps moving: wide cracks that reopen, heaved or sunken sections, or a pad that never drained. A coating cannot fix those.
