Pickleball is a big part of life in St. George. The Huntsman World Senior Games bring athletes from around the world every fall, and plenty of local players compete in them or simply play at that level year-round. For a serious player, a court at home means drilling every day instead of fitting in around open play.
A court built for that kind of play gets the details right. The lines are regulation, 20 by 44 feet with 7-foot kitchens, so practice transfers straight to tournament courts. A permanent net on sleeve-set posts holds its height, and a ball rebounder lets you work on dinks alone. Players who log long sessions often ask about AT Sports CushionX, the rubber mat that goes under the acrylic; we are certified to install it, and it takes some of the shock out of hours on knees and ankles.
Around the court, chain-link fencing with windscreens keeps a hard drive from leaving the yard and cuts the afternoon wind. A scoreboard and timer help when friends come over for match play. Underneath, a post-tension slab, its cables tightened after the concrete hardens, keeps small cracks closed.
