An American Fork court that grows with your kids
A family court in American Fork often starts as one thing and becomes another. The pickleball court that suits the family this year may need a basketball hoop when a son or daughter makes the team, or space for a rebounder when practice gets serious. Planning for that at the start is far simpler than pouring concrete twice.
The trick is to leave room. We can extend the slab at one end so a basketball key can be painted later, and plan a hoop anchor kit into the build now, so an in-ground hoop bolts on when the time comes. Sleeves for a permanent pickleball net go in at the same pour.
Everything else is the standard build: a site walk, excavation and grading so water drains away, and a post-tension slab whose cables are tensioned after curing to keep cracks small. Sports Master acrylic sand-mix covers it, with regulation pickleball lines now and room for more lines later.

Can we add a basketball hoop later?
Yes, especially if we plan for it now. A hoop anchor kit set in concrete during the build lets an in-ground hoop bolt on later, and a little extra slab leaves room for a key.
What is a hoop anchor kit?
Anchor hinges set into the concrete that hold an in-ground hoop's pole. They come for 4-, 5- or 6-inch square poles.
Will lines added later look patched on?
New lines are painted onto the existing acrylic, and if the surface needs refreshing at the same time, a recoat makes everything match.
Can the court start with just pickleball?
Of course. Regulation pickleball lines and a permanent net are all it needs on day one.
