A Lehi court for early-morning games
Plenty of Lehi players get their pickleball in before the commute, when the air is cool and the court has been out of the sun all night. A backyard court makes that easy: walk out, play a game or two, and be at your desk on time.
Summer sun is the thing to plan for. A newer Lehi yard may have little shade, and a dark surface in full sun runs hotter underfoot than a light one. Lighter Sports Master colors stay cooler, so it is worth seeing a few combinations before choosing. A kitchen in a contrasting tone keeps the non-volley line sharp in the low morning light.
Under the color is a post-tension slab on a graded, draining base. Its cables are pulled tight once the concrete is hard, which keeps small cracks from wandering across the court. The lines are regulation: 20 by 44 feet, with a 7-foot kitchen each side.

Does court color affect how hot it gets?
