Why cracks come back on a Nephi court
Nephi sits under Mount Nebo in high desert country, where a hot summer afternoon can give way to a cool night, and winter swings even harder. Concrete grows and shrinks a little with every swing. On a court, that slow breathing shows up as cracks, and some of them are what builders call working cracks: they open in the cold and close in the heat, over and over.
A working crack can't simply be filled with something rigid and forgotten, because the next cold snap will pull it apart again. On a Nephi resurface we clean those cracks out and repair them, then build the surface back up so the repair sits flush. Cracks that have stopped moving are filled and leveled the usual way.
Then the court is cleaned and new Sports Master acrylic goes on, a coat at a time, with sand mixed in for traction, and the lines are repainted. A working crack may still show as a faint line in time. That is the slab moving, and it can be touched up without redoing the court.

Why do the same cracks keep reopening on our Nephi court?
Big swings between hot and cold make the slab expand and contract, so some cracks open and close with the weather. We repair them, but a crack that moves with the seasons may still show faintly over time.
Is a crack that comes back a sign the court is failing?
Not on its own. A thin crack that tracks the weather is normal slab movement. Wide cracks that heave or keep widening are different, and we will tell you if we see those.
Can a returning crack be touched up?
Yes. A crack that shows again can be repaired and blended without resurfacing the whole court.
Do you travel to Nephi?
Yes. Our Northern Utah crew comes south from Mapleton, roughly 32 miles, and works in Nephi, Payson and Spanish Fork.
