Court Resurfacing in Washington, UT
Desert yards in Washington City surround courts with rock, gravel and drip lines. Gravel tracked onto the surface scratches it, and edges take a beating. Resurfacing repairs both.

Where the gravel meets a Washington City court
Desert-style yards are common in Washington City: crushed rock, gravel paths, drip-irrigated shrubs and very little lawn. It is a smart way to landscape here, and it brings a different kind of wear to a court. Gravel gets kicked, carried and blown onto the surface, and once it is there, every step grinds it against the acrylic.
The result is scratches, chipped spots and worn texture along the edges nearest the rock. The edges themselves can suffer too, where landscaping slopes toward the slab or a drip line keeps the ground beside it damp. Over time that soft edge lets the concrete crack or crumble at the corner.
A resurface starts at those edges: chipped spots and cracks are repaired, the surface is cleaned of embedded grit, and low spots are leveled. Then new Sports Master acrylic goes on in coats with sand for traction, and lines are repainted. A border of pavers or a low curb between the rock and the court keeps gravel from finding its way back.
Our Southern Utah crew works out of Ivins, roughly 10 miles west of Washington City, and also resurfaces courts in St. George and Hurricane.

Questions
Asked in Washington
How do we keep gravel off our Washington City court?
A border between the rock and the slab helps, like pavers or a small curb, along with a quick sweep before play. Grit left on the court gets ground in.
Can chipped edges be repaired?
Yes. Chips and crumbling corners are rebuilt and leveled during prep, then covered by the new coats so the edge is sound again.
Do drip lines near the court cause problems?
They can if they keep the ground beside the slab wet. Moving emitters a little farther away keeps the edge drier and stronger.
