Timing a Draper resurface, from the valley to SunCrest
Acrylic coatings need dry pavement and moderate temperatures to cure properly, so the calendar matters when you resurface. In Draper that calendar depends on altitude. A court down near the valley floor dries out early in spring, while one up at SunCrest can sit under snow well after the valley has melted, and it cools off sooner in fall.
The wear differs too. Lower courts near the Point of the Mountain catch wind that drives grit across the surface, slowly polishing the texture smooth. Higher courts go through more freezing and thawing, which opens cracks and lifts loose patches of coating at the edges.
The work itself is the same in both places. We clean the court, scrape away any coating that has let go, fill the cracks and level the low spots, then lay down new Sports Master acrylic with sand for grip. Lines go back on to regulation, and colors can change if you want a new look.
Book early if your court is up on the ridge, so the work fits the warm stretch of the year. Draper is roughly 32 miles from our Northern Utah crew's base in Mapleton, and that crew recoats courts in Sandy, Riverton and South Jordan too. Estimates are free.

Questions
Asked in Draper
When should we schedule a resurface in Draper?
In the warm, dry part of the year, when the coatings can cure. Courts on the valley floor open up earlier in spring than those at SunCrest, so higher courts are worth booking ahead.
Why does our court feel slick even though it isn't cracked?
Wind-blown grit and years of play wear the sand texture down. A resurface puts new acrylic and fresh sand on top, which brings the grip back.
Can loose, peeling coating be fixed?
Yes. Anything that has lost its bond is scraped off during prep, so the new layers stick to a sound surface instead of to a coating that is already failing.
Do you also cover Riverton and Sandy?
Yes. The same Northern Utah crew that drives roughly 32 miles from Mapleton to Draper recoats courts across the south end of the valley.
