Court Resurfacing in Cottonwood Heights, UT
Cottonwood Heights courts spend a long winter under canyon snow. When it melts, the damage shows: cracks opened by frost, scrapes from shovels and worn spots. Resurfacing puts it right.

After the snow melts on a Cottonwood Heights court
Storms come straight out of Big and Little Cottonwood Canyons, so a court in Cottonwood Heights can stay buried for long stretches of winter. Snow itself does little harm. The trouble is what comes with it: water working into hairline cracks and freezing there, metal shovel blades and snowblowers scraping the surface, and meltwater that sits in low corners well into spring.
So the time to look at a court here is right after the melt. Cracks that were hairline in fall may be open now, edges may have chipped, and the color may show scrape marks where someone cleared a path to play in March.
Resurfacing handles all of it. The court is cleaned, cracks are cleaned out and filled, chips are patched and low corners leveled. Fresh layers of Sports Master acrylic go down with sand for grip, then new lines. Because coatings need mild, dry weather, we plan Cottonwood Heights work for late spring through early fall.
To protect the new surface next winter, use a plastic shovel or simply let the snow melt, and keep de-icing salt off the court. Our Northern Utah crew drives up from Mapleton, roughly 37 miles, and recoats courts in Sandy and Holladay too.

Questions
Asked in Cottonwood Heights
Can we shovel our Cottonwood Heights court in winter?
Yes, gently. A plastic shovel is fine. Metal blades and snowblowers scrape the acrylic, and de-icing salt is hard on it, so letting snow melt on its own is easiest on the surface.
What time of year do you resurface here?
Late spring through early fall, once the court is dry and temperatures are mild enough for the coatings to cure. Asking early in the season helps you get on the schedule.
Do frost cracks mean the court is failing?
Not usually. Hairline cracks that open in winter are common and can be repaired during a resurface. Wide cracks that heave or shift are a slab problem, and we will tell you if that is what we see.
Which crew works in Cottonwood Heights?
Our Northern Utah crew, based in Mapleton roughly 37 miles away, which resurfaces courts across the east bench, including Sandy, Holladay and Millcreek.
