Scrubbing the grit out of an Eagle Mountain court
Much of the ground around Eagle Mountain is still open, and the breeze rarely quits. Whatever it lifts ends up on the court: fine dust that settles into the texture, coarse grit that rolls under shoes, and in fall a tumbleweed or two caught against the fence. Add strong sun on a court with no shade, and wear comes from above and below at once.
Grit is the quiet one. Every game grinds it against the surface, and over a few seasons the sand texture wears down and the color takes on a dusty, flat look that rinsing no longer fixes. That is when a resurface makes sense. We clean the court deeply, repair any cracks and low spots, and lay new Sports Master acrylic with sand for grip, then repaint the lines.
A few habits keep the new surface fresh longer: blow or sweep the court before playing on windy days, hose it down now and then, and keep a gap between the court and bare dirt. Windscreens on a fence block some of what the wind carries, and a mid-tone color shows dust less than a very light one.

Why does our Eagle Mountain court look dusty even after rinsing?
Fine dust works into the texture and grit wears the top of the color down, so the surface itself has dulled. A resurface replaces that worn layer with fresh acrylic.
How can we keep dust off the court?
Sweep or blow it off before playing, rinse it now and then, and keep bare dirt from bordering the slab. Windscreens on the fence also catch some of what the wind brings.
Will a darker or lighter color hold up better?
Both wear the same way, but a mid-tone hides dust between cleanings, and a lighter color stays cooler in full sun. We can talk through options at the estimate.
