Looking after a Provo court once it is built
Provo is BYU's home and the Utah County seat, and it is also only about 9 miles from our Mapleton base. That closeness makes Provo a good place to talk about the part of a basketball court people rarely ask about: what happens after the last line is painted.
Day to day, very little. An acrylic court wants regular sweeping, and an occasional rinse with a hose clears dust and the scuffs that build up under the hoop. Keep sprinkler heads pointed away from the surface, and clear leaves before they sit wet through a winter.
Over years, sun and play wear the color, especially in the key where everyone plants their feet. When the surface fades or loses its grip, it can be resurfaced: cleaned, any cracks repaired, and new acrylic coats and lines laid over the same slab. A post-tension slab, with tightened steel cables keeping its small cracks closed, gives that resurface sound concrete to go on.
Building it right starts the usual way: excavation and grading so water drains, the slab, then Sports Master acrylic sand-mix in your colors, with the hoop you choose. Estimates in Provo are free.

Supreme Custom Courts, and specifically Ola, we're wonderful. I called Supreme with what turned out to be a simple question on how to "fix" something on our Dominator hoop. About 10 minutes later Ola was at our house and two minutes later the problem was "fixed."

Questions
Asked in Provo
How do we clean a backyard basketball court?
Sweep it regularly and rinse it with a hose now and then. That keeps dust and scuffs from building up and the surface gripping well.
What wears out first on a basketball court?
Usually the color in the key and under the hoop, where feet land most. The slab underneath lasts much longer than the color coats.
Can the court be resurfaced later instead of replaced?
Yes. Resurfacing cleans the court, repairs cracks and lays new acrylic and lines over the existing slab.
Should sprinklers hit a Provo court?
Try not to. Point the heads away from the surface so water and mineral spots don't build up on it.
