A Saratoga Springs court in the lake breeze
On the west shore of Utah Lake, afternoon wind can come across the water with nothing to slow it down. For a sport court in Saratoga Springs that matters more than people expect: a pickleball is light, a volleyball floats, and both drift in a steady breeze. Where the court sits on the lot, and what surrounds it, can take some of that out of play.
Chain-link fencing with windscreens on the windward sides is the usual fix, and the screens cut glare off the lake too. Planting or the house itself can shelter one end. On a compact Saratoga Springs lot, we weigh all of that when deciding where the slab goes and which way it faces.
The build underneath is the same careful sequence: the site dug out and graded so water leaves the court, then post-tension concrete whose steel tendons are pulled tight after curing. Sports Master acrylic sand-mix goes on in your colors, and lines for pickleball, basketball or volleyball are each painted their own shade.
Add an adjustable hoop for the kids and Dominator LED lights for the evenings. Our Mapleton base is roughly 24 miles around the lake, and estimates are free.

Supreme Custom Courts, and specifically Ola, we're wonderful. I called Supreme with what turned out to be a simple question on how to "fix" something on our Dominator hoop. About 10 minutes later Ola was at our house and two minutes later the problem was "fixed."

Questions
Asked in Saratoga Springs
Does the wind off Utah Lake affect play?
It can, especially for light balls like pickleballs and volleyballs. Windscreens on the fence and a well-chosen spot on the lot take a lot of the breeze out of the game.
Which sides of the court need windscreens?
The sides facing the prevailing wind, usually toward the lake. We look at your lot and recommend where screens will do the most good.
Can a compact Saratoga Springs yard hold more than one sport?
Yes. A pickleball court with a basketball key at one end puts two games on one slab, each with lines in its own color.
Can kids and adults share the hoop?
An in-ground adjustable hoop with a pinlock lets you raise or lower the rim, so younger players and adults can use the same hoop.
