A West Valley City court with room for volleyball
Volleyball is easy to forget when people picture a backyard court, but a net strung across a hard surface gets six or more people playing at once. In West Valley City a multi-sport court can be planned around a volleyball net, with pickleball lines and a hoop at one end so the slab works for smaller games too.
Before anything is poured, we look at the yard with you and mark where the court goes. Then the ground is dug out and graded so water leaves the court instead of pooling on it. Under the surface sits a post-tension slab: cables inside the concrete are stressed after it cures, which keeps small cracks from opening up.
The finish is Sports Master acrylic sand-mix. Volleyball, pickleball and basketball lines each get a color of their own, and a fixed regulation hoop or an adjustable one goes where it won't crowd the net. Fencing keeps balls out of the street, and LED lights keep games going after dark. If grandkids will be running around the post, pole and backboard pads take the hard edge off it.

Can a volleyball net go on a West Valley City sport court?
Yes. A multi-sport court can carry volleyball lines alongside pickleball and basketball, each in its own color. We decide where the net goes first, then fit the other games around it.
What's under the colored surface?
Graded ground and a post-tension concrete slab. The acrylic on top gives grip and color; the slab underneath is what keeps the court flat year after year.
Can we add a cushioned layer?
Yes. We are certified installers of AT Sports CushionX, a rubber mat laid under the acrylic that makes the court softer to land on. It helps when a game involves a lot of jumping.
