Facing a West Jordan court away from the sunset
On a summer evening in West Jordan the sun drops toward the Oquirrhs and shines straight across most yards. If a court runs east to west, someone ends up squinting into it. That's why courts are usually laid out north to south, and why we look at the sun's path before deciding where yours goes.
After placement comes the heavy work: excavating and grading so storm water drains off, then pouring a post-tension concrete slab. On a newer lot toward the mountains, that can mean hauling out loose construction fill before the grade is set. Steel cables in that slab are stressed once the concrete has cured, squeezing it so fine cracks don't spread.
A full build can mix games. Basketball, pickleball, tennis and volleyball lines can all share one slab, each painted in its own color on Sports Master acrylic sand-mix. Windscreens help on the west side too, where they block the low glare along with the breeze, and a printed one can show off a family name.
We finish with whatever you choose to add: hoops, nets, fencing, a scoreboard, a bench, or Dominator LED lights for after the sun's gone. Mapleton, where our Northern Utah crew is based, is about 39 miles down I-15, and a West Jordan estimate is free.

Which way should a sport court face in West Jordan?
Usually north to south, so the low morning and evening sun comes from the side instead of down the length of the court. If your yard can't allow that exactly, we find the layout that gets closest.
Do windscreens help with sun as well as wind?

Can we have tennis and pickleball on the same court?
