Keeping mountain runoff off a Millcreek court
Under Mount Olympus, spring snowmelt and summer cloudbursts both move downhill, and a court in the way of that water needs a plan. On a Millcreek bench lot we look at where water comes onto the property, not just where it leaves. Grading carries it around and off the pad, and a site that stays wet gets subsurface drainage under the court.
The slab itself is post-tension concrete. Steel tendons are drawn tight after it cures, which holds the concrete in compression so small cracks stay closed as the ground freezes and thaws. That matters on a damp site even more than a dry one.
A multi-sport court on top can be as simple or as full as you like: a pickleball court with a basketball key, a half-court with a rebounder for solo practice, or tennis with pickleball lines inside on a larger lot. Sports Master acrylic sand-mix goes down in your colors, each sport's lines in their own.
Fencing and windscreens keep the game contained on a close-set street, and Dominator LED lights can run on a timer. Millcreek is about 42 miles from our Northern Utah crew's Mapleton base, and estimates are free.

Questions
Asked in Millcreek
Our Millcreek yard gets water from uphill. Can we still have a court?
Usually, yes. We plan where the water comes in and where it goes, grade the pad so it runs around and off, and add subsurface drainage if the ground stays wet.
How does the slab handle wet ground and cold winters?
A post-tension slab has steel cables pulled tight after the concrete cures, keeping it compressed so small cracks stay closed. Good drainage around it does the rest.
What's a good layout for a modest Millcreek lot?
A pickleball court with a basketball key painted at one end gives two games in the space of one. On a larger lot, tennis with pickleball lines inside is possible.
Can the lights be set to turn off on their own?
Yes. Dominator LED lights can run on a timer, so they switch off at the hour you choose, or on a remote.
