A compact court for a Millcreek yard
Millcreek runs from the valley floor up to the mouth of Millcreek Canyon, and most of its yards are what you would expect in established neighborhoods: room for a court, but not for much extra. The trick is getting real basketball out of the space you have.
A half court does not have to be the biggest size possible. What matters most is the hoop, a full-size key, and enough room past the free-throw line to shoot, drive and rebound. We draw the layout to your yard so the key is real and the court ends where the yard does, rather than squeezing in a long slab that leaves no grass.
On a smaller lot the ball needs somewhere to stop. Chain-link court fencing along the property line, or a ball rebounder behind the hoop, keeps loose balls out of the neighbor's flowerbeds. Windscreens on that fence can carry a family logo.
Under a small court goes everything a big one gets: a dug and graded pad that drains, a concrete slab post-tensioned with steel tendons, and Sports Master acrylic sand-mix with crisp lines. Cool canyon evenings are good shooting weather. Millcreek is about 42 miles from the Mapleton base of our northern crew, and estimates are free.

What is the smallest basketball court worth building?
One with a full-size key and room to shoot and rebound beyond it. Smaller than that it becomes a shooting pad, which still works for practice.
How do we keep the ball out of the neighbor's Millcreek yard?
