A Hurricane court built for guests
Between Sand Hollow and the road to Zion, Hurricane has plenty of homes that host guests, whether family or renters. A basketball court at a house like that gets played by people who don't own it, don't know it and won't be there to look after it.
So the equipment should forgive hard use. A breakaway rim takes a guest's dunk without cracking the rim or backboard. Pole and backboard pads protect players who don't know where the post is. A fixed regulation hoop has no pinlock to fiddle with, and Dominator LED lights on a timer go off at the hour you set, keeping late games from bothering the neighbors.
Sand is part of Hurricane, too. Fencing with windscreens can cut how much blows onto the court, and grading that sheds water keeps storm runoff from leaving sand behind. A quick sweep before a game keeps the sand-mix surface gripping.
Under it is a post-tension slab, its steel cables pulled tight after the concrete sets so cracks stay closed, coated in Sports Master acrylic in colors that suit the red rock. Our Southern Utah crew is based in Ivins, about 22 miles from Hurricane, and the estimate is free.

Questions
Asked in Hurricane
What hoop suits a court at a vacation rental?
A fixed regulation hoop with a breakaway rim and pole pads. It has nothing to adjust and stands up to hard play by guests.
Can the lights switch off by themselves at a Hurricane rental?
Yes. Set the Dominator LEDs on a timer and they switch off at the hour you pick, whoever is playing.
How do we keep sand off the court?
Fencing with windscreens cuts what blows in, and grading keeps runoff from carrying sand across the slab. Sweep before play for grip.
How far is Hurricane from your crew?
About 22 miles. Our Southern Utah crew works out of Ivins and builds across Washington County.
