An Ogden court built around the hoop
Weber State has played its basketball at the Dee Events Center for decades, and plenty of Ogden kids start out on a driveway hoop. A backyard sport court built around a fixed regulation hoop gives them a real key, a real arc and a surface that doesn't tilt toward the street.
On Ogden's east bench, many yards slope down toward the valley, so the first job is a level pad. We excavate, grade it with just enough fall to drain, and pour post-tension concrete, the kind with steel cables stretched inside after it cures so the slab stays in compression through northern Utah winters.
The rest is up to the player. A breakaway rim takes hard dunks without cracking the backboard, an anchor kit sets the pole, and pads cover the post. Pickleball or volleyball lines can share the slab in other colors, and Sports Master acrylic sand-mix gives the ball a true bounce.
Fencing keeps loose balls off the hill, and Dominator LED lights let games run after dark in the fall, when the sun sets early. Ogden is roughly 79 miles from our Northern Utah crew's home in Mapleton, and pricing a court there is free.

What hoop should a serious Ogden player get?
A fixed regulation hoop on an anchor kit is the standard for training. A breakaway rim is worth adding if there's dunking, and pole pads protect players who drive hard to the basket.
Our east bench yard slopes. Can it hold a full court?
It depends on how much ground there is. We grade a level pad into the slope and show you the largest court that fits, from a half-court up.
Can the slab carry pickleball lines as well?
Yes. Pickleball lines can be painted alongside the basketball key in a different color, so the court works for both.
Do you come as far north as Ogden?
