A Sandy sport court that keeps the ball home
On a sloped Sandy lot, a missed shot doesn't just bounce off the court. It rolls downhill, through the flowerbeds and sometimes into the next yard. On a full or multi-sport court here, the fence matters as much as the hoop. Chain-link around the court keeps balls in, and windscreens on the fence cut the wind and the glare.
Inside the fence line the ground has to be made flat first. We excavate, grade a level pad with just enough fall for water to run off, and pour a post-tension slab. The cables in it are tensioned after curing, so the concrete stays tight through Sandy's cold winters.
Surface and lines come next: Sports Master acrylic sand-mix, with basketball, pickleball, tennis or volleyball lines in contrasting colors. Add a Dominator hoop, nets, a ball rebounder for solo practice, and LED lights for the evenings.
Color is worth a second thought on the east side, where yards look straight at the Wasatch: a darker court sits quietly against the mountains, while a bright one stands out from the deck. Sandy is about 34 miles north of Mapleton, where our Northern Utah crew keeps its base, and estimates are free.

Supreme Custom Courts, and specifically Ola, we're wonderful. I called Supreme with what turned out to be a simple question on how to "fix" something on our Dominator hoop. About 10 minutes later Ola was at our house and two minutes later the problem was "fixed."

Questions
Asked in Sandy
Do I need fencing around a court on a sloped Sandy lot?
It's worth it. On a slope a loose ball keeps going, and chain-link around the court keeps play on the court and balls out of the neighbors' yards.
How do you make a sloped yard flat enough for a court?
We excavate and grade a level pad, leaving only a slight fall so water drains off. Where the slope is steep, the plan has to account for the high side and the low side; we walk it with you first.
Can one court handle basketball and volleyball?
Yes. A multi-sport slab can carry a basketball key and volleyball lines, each painted in its own color. We place the hoop so it doesn't block the net.
Is there a way to practice alone?
A ball rebounder sends the ball back every time, so one player can work on shots or returns without a partner.
