Where a pickleball court fits in Millcreek

Millcreek stretches from the mouth of Millcreek Canyon, under Mount Olympus, west toward the freeway, and its yards vary as much as its streets. Some have room for a court with space to spare; others have just enough. A pickleball court is a good match for both, because its playing area of about 30 by 60 feet is modest.

Before we sketch anything, we look at where the court can go: how close it can sit to the property line, where the fence would run, and whether the city wants a permit for the work. We help you through the permit process and plan the layout so the court is comfortable for you and for the yard next door.

Construction follows a set order. Excavation and grading come first, with a slope that sends water off the court. Then a post-tension slab is poured, its internal cables stressed later to keep cracks closed. Sports Master acrylic sand-mix and regulation lines go on last, in colors you choose.

Fencing with windscreens, a permanent net and Dominator LED lights on a timer round it out. Millcreek is a 42-mile trip from Mapleton for our Northern Utah crew, and the estimate is free.

Supreme Custom Courts, and specifically Ola, we're wonderful. I called Supreme with what turned out to be a simple question on how to "fix" something on our Dominator hoop. About 10 minutes later Ola was at our house and two minutes later the problem was "fixed."

Questions

Asked in Millcreek

Do we need a permit for a court in Millcreek?

It depends on the project, including fencing and lights. We help you through the permit process so you know what the city needs before work starts.

How close to the property line can the court go?

That depends on the city's rules for your lot. We check the layout during the site walk and plan the court and fence around it.

Can the lights be set to turn off on their own?

Yes. Put the Dominator LED lights on a timer and they shut off by themselves, which your neighbors will appreciate as much as you do.

Is Millcreek too far for your crew?

Not at all. Our Northern Utah crew makes the trip from Mapleton for jobs all over this part of the valley.
