Tennis Court Resurfacing in Murray, UT

Courts in Murray's older neighborhoods have often been painted more than once, and not always with court coatings. When old layers peel or bubble, we take them back to a sound surface before new acrylic goes on.

When old coats peel on a Murray tennis court

Some backyard tennis courts in Murray, one of the older cities in Salt Lake County, have had several lives. One owner rolled on a fresh color, another patched a crack with whatever was in the garage, and somewhere along the way a coat went on that was never made for a court. That history shows up as peeling, flaking, or blisters that pop under your shoes.

New acrylic is only as good as what it sticks to, so loose material has to come off first. We clean the court, scrape away the coating that has let go, and repair the cracks and low spots underneath. Then we build the surface back up with acrylic resurfacer, color coats in the colors you choose, and new regulation lines.

If the court was once a patio or an old sport slab, we will tell you plainly whether the concrete under it can carry a tennis surface. Often it can. Sometimes it has heaved or split too far, and then a rebuild is the honest answer.

Our Northern Utah crew is based in Mapleton, about 41 miles away, and works in Millcreek and Holladay next door. Ask for a free estimate on your Murray court.

Supreme Custom Courts, and specifically Ola, we're wonderful. I called Supreme with what turned out to be a simple question on how to "fix" something on our Dominator hoop. About 10 minutes later Ola was at our house and two minutes later the problem was "fixed."

Questions

Asked in Murray

Why is the paint on our Murray court peeling?

Often because a past coat was the wrong product, or went on over dirt or damp. It never stuck properly, and sun and frost lift it. We remove what is loose before applying new acrylic.

Can you coat right over the old surface?

Only over the parts that are sound. Acrylic that is still firmly attached can stay, be cleaned and be coated. Anything flaking or blistered comes off first, or the new layers would peel along with it.

What are the blisters that pop when we walk on it?

Usually moisture or air trapped under a coat that did not bond. They break open and leave bare spots. Removing the loose coating and resurfacing properly takes care of them.

Can we switch to pickleball while we are at it?

You can add it rather than switch. Pickleball lines in a contrasting color go on with the new surface, and the tennis lines stay, so the court still plays both games.
